Escrow Unit with 2 Solenoid Magnets
The escrow unit is used in vending machines for the temporary storage of inserted coins, allowing them to be returned in the event that a transaction is cancelled. This prevents manipulative money laundering.
The escrow unit is equipped with a collection container in which all coins are temporarily stored after being accepted by an electronic coin validator.
The collection container has two flaps on its underside, which can be opened by means of two pull-type solenoid magnets. When one flap is opened, the coins are directed to the coin return; when the other flap is opened, the coins are directed to the main cashbox.
Control and Installation of the Escrow Unit
The escrow unit is controlled simply by energising the electromagnet assigned to the respective flap. As standard, the electromagnets are equipped with 980 mm connection wires.
A microswitch is provided to report the flap position back to the vending machine. The microswitch is activated immediately when the return flap opens, while for the acceptance flap it is activated only when the flap is fully open. The switch can be connected by the customer and operated as a normally open, normally closed or changeover contact.
To ensure optimum functionality and service life of the E 101 escrow unit, it is essential that the mechanical mounting inside the vending machine allows the unit to be mounted in a floating arrangement. Otherwise, the flaps may not move freely and reliable operation of the escrow unit cannot be guaranteed.
